Whenever you access the Netgear routers for first time the default password for the Netgear routers is “password”. It is always recommended to change this default password because anyone can access your internet connection using this default password. Here are the steps you need to follow to change the default password for Netgear routers.
Step 1: click on the search box in the start button.
Step 2: search for the “cmd” and type “ipconfig” and simply press enter.
Step 3: just copy the default address you will find under the default gateway.
Step 4: open the web browser and fill the copied address or simply type routerlogin.com or www.routerlogin.com in the web browser address bar.
Step 5: It will ask for the user name and the password for the successful login. Use the following login details for successful login to the routerlogin.com page.
Step 6: Go to the “Advance” settings.
Step 7: Click on the “Set Password” option under the “Administrator” field.
Step 8: Here you can change the password. You will need to fill the old password before changing the new password. We always recommend resetting the password that should not be easily accessible for anyone. Also, write-down the newly set password somewhere so you can use that use them later when required. If by chance you forgot the password, you will have only one option to reset the Netgear routers.
